Lost Saga is an online free-to-play action fighting game from Korean developer IO Entertainment. The game features a unique play mode where players can switch out characters in real time during a battle, which opens up tons of unique combos and adds a lot of replay value to the game. There are said to be over 100 characters which you can unlock and obtain in the game. Lost Saga also offers many different maps and play modes. It is currently in open beta testing, and is free to sign up and play.

War of Legends is a new free multiplayer strategy game published by Jagex Ltd., where players appoint legendary leaders and form multiplayer alliances to reach eternal glory! The game itself is playable online through your browser and works via Flash. The game is free-to-play but also includes micro-transactions. The gameplay is centred on building and commanding a kingdom and inspired from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. War of Legends is set in a Player vs. Player environment. Jagex has stated that although it is not essential to compete with other players, a ’solid defence’ is needed in order to build a kingdom. It is possible to be attacked while not logged into the game, a feature that is also present in their FunOrb game ‘Dungeon Assault’, although Jagex have said that War of Legends is totally different and separate.

MIR II is a free-to-play, Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). It features a 2D, top-level isometric view of its lush and massive landscapes, home to over 500 unique areas and more than 400 fierce monsters. It’s the debut title from Gamepot USA, and like all of their future titles, it is 100% free to play.
In the game, players take part in a long-standing war between humanity and two monster races, the Oma and the Neru. Mir II employs a tri-class system featuring Warriors (great strength and stamina), Wizards (mages with an arsenal of spells at their disposal), Assassins (stealth attackers with magic attacks) and Taoists (mentally disciplined martial artists). Players develop their character’s skills and abilities by battling monsters, story-based quests, and teaming up with trusted friends for dungeon adventures. Players can interact with others through chatting, trading, and playing mini-games. Players can form groups to hunt monsters and share the rewards, and create guilds for long-term friendship. These guilds can also battle each other in open warfare, laying siege to each other’s castles in grand fashion.

Gameplay centers on venturing into dungeons and combating monsters in real time. MIR II’s top-down viewpoint offers a throwback perspective to the classic games of yesteryear, while maintaining a robust array of social features to stay at the cutting edge. MIR II is played with a keyboard and mouse, and the configuration is completely customizable to the user’s liking. There is also a Free Market element to the game, driven by the players themselves and the value of Gold, the in-game currency of MIR II.
Mir II characters exist in domains called “worlds” or “servers”, e.g., “RedDragon”. Players are allowed to create up to three different characters in each world. Each world is split into twenty channels, among which characters are allowed to switch freely.

AIKA is a new free-to-play MMO from gPotato. The game is currently still in development, but anyone can sign up and take part in the beta. AIKA allows players to join large scale nation vs nation battlegrounds as well as a system to raise your own fairy from birth to adulthood.

Each nation has an altar to the goddess Aika. This altar is used for storing important national treasures and for giving sacrifices for the prosperity of the country. Specifically the altars store some of the nation’s gold supply and materials used to upgrade magical artifacts. Altars are holy places and store items that are extremely important to the nation. Because of this they have great protection, and are heavily guarded. Besides guards, each altar is protected by several guardian stones. After the three primary guardian stones are crushed, a final guardian stone appears at the altar. If this guardian stone is destroyed then the altar is weakened and can be stolen from. Citizens may invade an enemy nation and destroy the guardian stones and finally rob the altar. The destroyed stones are regenerated in one hour. Once the guardian stones are destroyed then anyone may steal from the altar, even if you are not a member of the attacking nation. If you steal from an altar then your nation will gain some of the gold that was stored in the victim nation’s altar along with some of the special items stored there. If you are alone when you steal then you can get 20% of the collected gold and 5% EXP to your next level. If you are in a group when you steal from the altar then the stolen gold is split among the party members equally, and each of you will gain 5% EXP towards your next level. If your nation’s altar is robbed, then the goddess Aika will be displeased. Her displeasure will bring a curse upon your nation. For the next hour the monsters in your nation will have their attack increased by 50% and the drop rate will be reduced by 30%. But your altar will be safe from attack for a while….

AIKA

La Tale Online is a colorful action MMORPG from OGPlanet. The game shares similarities with Maple Story and is great for casual MMO gamers who are looking for some quick hack and slash action with some RPG elements.

The Story:
While searching for the Iris Stones placed throughout the world of Jiendia to trace the story of Iris; the inhabitants have decided to seek out the stones of other companions of Iris, to find more clues about her. The inhabitants then went to seek out Tony O; a trader who came from Atlantis. From him they hoped to gather advice on where to find the other stones.

“The Memoriam, which was the holder of memories, scattered all the memories of Iris to the winds. These items are now known as the Iris Stones.”

“as the memories of Iris did scatter, so did those of her companions. If you can’t find them on the continent, you should consider the possibility of moving to a whole different world. From the gap between those worlds you may find it.”

Taking Tony O’s advice, the inhabitants make up their mind to make a trip to the other world in search of the other companions memories. You can move towards a totally different time, and place from Jiendia through the Time Machine.

Bright Shadow is a free to play MMORPG from gPotato with an anime design theme. Along with all the normal systems and conventions of free online role-playing games, Bright Shadow has a unique card collection system. There are over 500 monster cards that can be obtained by defeating enemies, the tougher the enemy the rarer the card. Monster cards have numerous uses, from being used as currency for items to unlocking special abilities. There are four starting classes but players can branch out and level up to one of 20 specialized classes.

The game’s four starting classes are:
Warrior – Warriors in Bright Shadow are masters of ‘close quarters’ combat. They can inflict a great deal of damage to their enemies in melee combat and also absorb quite a bit of hits due to their remarkably high defensive capabilities.

Mage - Like nearly every other MMORPG, a Mage in Bright Shadow is the primary offensive spell casting class in the game. They have devastating area-of-effect and direct damage spells, but have extremely low physical attack and defense. They command the powers of both fire and ice.

Most MMORPGs allow players to choose the type of play style preferred up front. Each quest has a base level, and the XP reward increases if all of the party members are below that level, and decreases if any of the party members are above that level. Students from the three remaining schools are trained in fighting techniques for them to survive outside the safety of their school’s force fields. The student will attack the other school student to show who the stronger between 3 school. Classes:
Brawlers: To most people, Brawling is considered a primitive, outdated course. This, however, is a grave misconception. To major in Brawling, students must harness latent powers stored deep within their bodies. Only students demonstrating high strength and coordination test scores qualify for this course, as Brawlers have shunned all armed conflict, choosing instead to embrace combat in its purest, basest form. Students of this course will eventually become masters of close range combat, the brutal poetry of their movement a sight to behold. That is, if you can see it.

Swordsmanship: The Art of the Sword, once banished for its role in numerous bloody conflicts, has been reinstated in the schools’ curriculum. However, only applicants who tested highly in both strength and agility can apply to this course. Students in this course must develop not only their strength but their dexterity as well, in order to perform the various, intricate, high-stakes swordplay demanded by their discipline, where the slightest error in judgment can have dire consequences not only for their opponents, but for themselves as well.

Archery: The course of Archery is perhaps the most artistic of the four courses, an enchanting visual symphony of flying arrows and twanging bows. Applicants to Archery must show high dexterity and agility test scores to pass the course. Archery students can choose to minor in Short Bows, which produce higher minimum damage to start off with and are extremely accurate; or Long Bows, which deal higher maximum damage at higher grade levels but can be prone to misses. Graduates of Archery boast that the mark of a true archer is that they never miss one.

Shamanism: The fusion between martial arts and Qi– the energy that flows through and around the human body, physically and psychically— is a difficult idea to comprehend for outsiders to the practice of Shamanism, but for those students who choose this course, this much they know: one cannot exist without the other.
