Tribal Wars is a free, online, browser-based game created by InnoGames GmBh in June 2003. It is a massively multiplayer, persistent-world strategy and resource management game. Players control villages, construct and upgrade buildings, raise armies of various units with different strengths, and interact with other players through alliances, trade, and warfare. Players can create tribes, which they invite other users to join and communicate to each other using tribal forums. Many of these tribes have a number of “sister/brother tribes” which act as one, often making use of external forums. The name of the game comes from these player created “tribes” and the “wars” that can erupt between them. Tribalwars is based on a points system, in which you get points for upgrading buildings. Also, individual players can expand their villages by taking over other villages, lowering the loyalty of another village below 0 using noblemen.
There are currently 35 “worlds” in the English version. The servers and worlds sometimes have several differences between each other. For example: World 2 of the Latvian version has different settings and more units then World 1 of the same server. This makes the game-tactics different between servers and worlds which leads to different gameplay. Nearly 7 million accounts have been registered since the game was launched.
