Mabinogi is a Celtic mythology inspired online role-playing game released by Nexon and developed by devCAT studio. The game engine features hand-painted textures stylized with edge detection outlining, which enhance the anime-looking characters. The game world is developed continuously, through the release of important patches (referred to as “Generations” and “Chapters”) that introduce new areas to explore, additional features such as pets and new skills, and advancement of the storyline.

Mabinogi’s gameplay is like most other MMORPGs. It does, however, offer some options uncommon to most games. The player is not limited by any class (except the character’s race), but is instead free to level up any of the different skills available. The combination of skill choice, age, items and other variables such as user title and physical constitution is what indeed makes up the character. Players can also use facial expressions as emotes to enhance the way they communicate with others. Different activities and mini-games can be enjoyed by the players, such as fishing, herding, applying for a part-time job, or simply sitting around a campfire, playing music, having a friendly chat, and sharing food.




The NPCs in Mabinogi remember each player. Not only do they just remember your name, but they know how often you’ve visited them, if you’ve been a good worker, even if you treated them good or bad. This means that the things they tell you or the way they treat you will vary depending on your relationship with them. There are many ways to befriend an NPC….who knows, they might even give you special treatment. You can learn many of skills at the School. However, once you learn the skills, it’s up to you to train! Go to school and learn the skills while you are young, and venture forth into the bigger world when you’re ready! All the NPCs in Mabinogi are busy working. If you are looking for a part-time job, then simply try talking to them. If you do your job faithfully and well, not only will you receive your salary, but the NPCs will favor you more and more. Do you ever feel like you’re just another player with nothing to make you stand out from the rest? In Mabinogi, you can earn unique titles that every player will recognize. Some titles are easy to earn, but others are rare titles that take a lot time and skill. Reach for titles that will tell let the whole world know who you are!
